Is holding up well with continued use
Fun, sturdy, colorfulThe book is colorful and has a LOT of flaps: the first two-page scene features the first ten numbers; the second has the 26 letters of the alphabet; the third shows a farm scene with nine colors featured; the fourth is a busy circus, with flaps for eight shapes; the fifth is a beach scene and the flaps depict seven pairs of opposites; and the sixth shows a fairy tale scene that incorporates eleven flaps hiding characters from the show (Stella, Baby Bop) and fairy tale characters (Humpty Dumpty, Mother Goose).
A good value, entertaining and educational.
Barney's Abc, 123 and More, an absolute hit!

Great for non-traditional families
not just african american families use this baby book!
an essential for today's families!

A great reference throughout my life
Wonderful Book! This book goes beyond the typical reminders about mammograms, pap smears, smoking, and HIV. Parts 4 through 6 really hit home. And the live voices of real women (Julia McMillon's story on page 567 really touched me!) made this book poignant. The photography and handy references at the end of each chapter makes this book worth every penny. As a result of reading this book, I joined the CA chapter of the Black Women's Health Project. My thanks go out to the author, Linda Villarosa! Keep up the good work.
A great reference throughout my life.

Excellent first-hand account, not "politically correct"
Amazing Book!

Lorenzo Schiavo and Felipe GravierFelipe Gravier and Lorenzo Schiavo review:
We think that Romeo and Juliet tells the story of two star-crossed lovers whose families are in a terrible fight which prevents them from coming together. How far the couple will go to be together becomes the focus of the story. Of his richest poetry. The opening and closing choruses are some of his most outstanding work. Romeo's It is a brilliant love story but not much more. It still possesses however some wooing of Juliet is fabulously written. The Friar gets the best lines. Mercutio is one the best friends of Romeo. It is not as good as Shakespeare has written but it's still a fabulous book and up there with his best work. One part of the play we didn't like was that for the tow families get arrange there two kids had to die.
The English language wasn't finally finished so Shakespeare had the liberty to create words and play with the language, as he liked. That's why It was so difficult to understand what each character wanted to express so the teacher had to explain us each of that words and teach us all the words in that age and told us which were the words in the English of today.
Interesting Storys
Shakespeare is for children too! This book was a overall well writen book and I beleive E. Nesbit put a lot of hard work into her books in her life-time. I'm sure if she were alive now she would still be writing good books to this day.

great stuffThe reason why i gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the illustrations could have been more oraganized, and more attractively done. It may sound like splitting hairs, but if you tried to use the illustrations as a guide for plants for infused oils, you may be disappointed.
Aromatherapy A-Z
A wonderful reference book!

Bar sinister
timeless, but of a different time! Also, I suspect the Winston Churchill is the Popular turn-of-the last century author of "Richard Carvel". His popularity was such that Sir Winston always used his middle initial to distinguish himself from the other (i.e. - Winston S. Churchill).
The Best Book Around for good reading entertainment

The Kids Loved It; I Have ReservationsDon't get me wrong - it's a great idea for a kid's book, and easily something we can all relate to: Oliver wakes up to find his hair is less than perfect. Every attempt by him and his family to treat the hair makes life (and Oliver's hair) more and more miserable. Finally, Oliver realizes all he's got to do is don a baseball cap (who HASN'T done this among us, men?), and trots off to school.
Once Oliver gets to school, one of his classmates takes glee in pointing out that today is picture day, and that Oliver will have to take the hat off. When it's time for posing with the entire class, the hat comes off, and the hair ... well, I'll not ruin the ending for those of you who have yet to pick up the book.
Ok, so why didn't I like it? For one thing, the book is busy. The words themselves are busy, and the artwork, while exceptional, contains just a hair too many distractions for the ordinary adult reader. Again, the kids loved it, and after all, who's the book going to be for?
Harmless fun that engaged the target audience for (groan) at least a dozen readings; I'll begrudgingly allow four stars.
HAIRSTERICALLY FUNNYWho hasn't tried to poke down those stubborn wayward strands of hair with the help of everything from water to mousse and gel? Kids not only love the subject, but can't resist joining in the refrain of b-b-boings. A great gift for anyone who struggles with chronic
or even acute 'bedhead'.
There IS such a thing as a "GOOD" bad hair day!

A landmark text.

A real treat if you are interested in chemistry

Interesting but, too technical. But then, I think it was to much for me when it started to get into drawing curves and testing materials.
That's the reason why I left the zone system behind. I'd rather take`pictures in the steet than draw lines and read neg densities at home.
If you want to be a ZoneSystem photographer, then this book will guide you through the real process that AA executed.
A must-read for advanced photographersThis book was written for the "left brain" with all its formulas, methods and explanations. But, it is detailed enough that the brain does not have to fill in the blanks of information not included as is the case with many such books. There is a section that addresses a method of exposure form a more "right brain" view and draws on the experience of using a light meter for photographers who are at that level.
I do not believe how well written this book is compared to others dealing with the same subject. I wish I had found this book years ago.
I wish I'd read this years ago!If you're a casual picture taker this book will be too much for you, but if you are serious about taking full advantage of your equipment to create the best possible work you'll find reading this book to be time well spent.
They love the fact that they can lift the flaps as I read them the story - makes for a really fun and exciting reading session (no matter how many times I've read it to them). They also enjoy looking through it themselves and love lifting all the flaps.
I can't tell you how many times this book has been read in the last 6 months but it's been ALOT. The flaps have held up well with the constant use and none look anywhere near ripping - this book is good quality.
As they are learning their ABC's and 123's this book has continued to hold their interest.
Recommended if you love Barney, love "flap books, or just want an interesting and fun way to learn your ABC's and 123's.
